A video clip that pretty much somes up how I feel on health care reform

Neil Cavuto gave a rant today that pretty much sums up how I feel on health care reform and the Democratic Party's response to criticism of their proposed plan, namely their endless demogaging of anyone who dare object to the plan or offer other policy alternatives. I could go on, but as I have said previously, I am lazy. So without further ado, here is Mr. Cavuto's rant:

  1. I think the video is fine, actually. I have no problem with open-minded folks who actually want to demand that the president and the Congress pay for something before passing it. But, then again, I wanted President Bush to pay for the Iraq War before he invaded. He gave me a tax cut instead. I wanted President Bush to pay for that ridiculous prescription drug package before it got passed. I wanted President Bush to pay for NCLB spending before it got passed. I wanted President Bush to pay for the banking/auto bailouts (to the tune of $700,000,000,000) before these reforms were passed.

Where was Neil then? Was he demanding that Congress raise everyone's taxes so that we could continue in Iraq for another six years? Was he asking for a tax hike when Bush demanded funds go to private and charter schools because public schools weren't adequately training kids? Was he asking for a tax hike to make sure that Goldman didn't fail the way that Merrill and Bear failed?

I didn't think so. The answers, of course, are a fully enforceable balanced budget amendment and, frankly, a draft. If we had these two items, we'd have a balanced budget every year and, yes, we would have been out of Iraq five years ago (assuming the limp Democrats authorized the invasion in the first place).
